Brighton is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. [1] It is about 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Wheeler on U.S. Route 101 next to Nehalem Bay, across the bay from Nehalem Bay State Park. [2] A town was platted at this locale in 1910 and named Brighton Beach, although it is not directly on the Pacific Ocean. [3]
Hemlock is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. [1] It lies along U.S. Route 101 about 3 miles (5 km) north of Beaver. [2] Beaver Creek, a tributary of the Nestucca River, flows through Hemlock.
Settlers began arriving in the early 1850s, and Tillamook County was created by the Territorial legislature in 1853. In 1862, the town itself was laid out, and the first post office was opened in 1866. The town was voted to be the county seat in 1873, and Tillamook was officially incorporated as a city in 1891. [6]
