In 1948, a new 10-room high school called Atholton Colored School was ordered. It was designed by Francis Thuman to be built in Simpsonville with a $280,000 budget. [5] The cornerstone was set on September 25, 1948, by the Colored Masonic Lodge. [6] Clarksville students were used to operate the bulldozers used in grading. [7]

The program's first year of competition was 1897, and since then NU has compiled an all-time record of 1,535–1,417, with seven NCAA Tournament and sixteen NIT appearances.
Hoiberg was the head coach of Iowa State from 2010 to 2015. On April 27, 2010, Iowa State University announced that Hoiberg would take over as head basketball coach, replacing Greg McDermott, who left ISU to take the head coaching position at Creighton. [4] In taking over the reins at ISU, Hoiberg became the school's 19th men's basketball coach.
