Margie’s Candies is the name of two popular confectioneries on the north side of Chicago. Owned by the same family, each one is part candy store and part sit-down ice cream parlor . The older of the two establishments has been operating at the same location for over a century and is widely considered a "Chicago legend".

The chain was founded by Howard N. Quam, a Chicago native, who served in the US Marines and then worked as a blackjack dealer at the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas.In the mid-1960s, Quam moved to Florida and opened his first restaurant, which he named in honor of the casino.

John Roeser Sr. arrived in the United States from Germany in 1905 and settled in Humboldt Park, a neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. In 1911, John opened Roeser's Bakery in downtown Chicago.
