Bowring Institute is a Private members' club in Bangalore, India. It was founded in 1868 by Benjamin Lewis Rice. [1] It is named after Lewin Bentham Bowring. [2] It is best known for its tennis facilities, [2] but also has what is probably the largest library in Bangalore. [3]
Century was founded in the year 1973 by Dayananda Pai and Satish Pai with the primary objective of buying, developing and selling land in Bangalore. They started in 1976 with plots near M.G. Road, Bengaluru and has expanded in various geographies since then.

The club was established in 1868, named the Bangalore United Services Club for officers of the British Empire. In 1915, membership was opened to Indian officers. Membership for civilians was opened in 1946, and the club was renamed the Bangalore Club. In 2018, the Club celebrated completing 150 years of existence. [2]
