The Danish National Archives (Danish: Rigsarkivet) is the national archive system of Denmark.Its primary purpose is to collect, preserve and archive historically valuable records from central authorities, such as ministries, agencies and national organisations and make them available to the public.
The Danish Census Book or the Danish book of land taxation (Latin: Liber Census Daniæ, Danish: Kong Valdemars Jordebog) dates from the 13th century and consists of a number of separate manuscripts. The original manuscripts are now housed in the Danish National Archives ( Rigsarkivet ) in Copenhagen.
The first edition (1887-1905) from Project Runeberg is available online. [3] Searchable online access to the current version containing updated articles, is available from Gyldendal's Den Store Danske website. The holdings include an almost complete collection of all Danish printed books back from 1482. In 2006, legal deposit was extended to electronic publications and now the library harvests four electronic copies of the Danish Internet each year. Danish books printed before 1900 are digitized on demand and made freely available to the public. [13]

Den Store Danske Encyklopædi (The Great Danish Encyclopedia) is the most comprehensive contemporary Danish language encyclopedia.The 20 volumes of the encyclopedia were published successively between 1994 and 2001; a one-volume supplement was published in 2002 and two index volumes in 2003.
