Rare$2Bills New Member. There are a handful of 1976 $2 bill sets that have been hand cancelled in Philadelphia on April 13th, 1976. These $2 bill sets are in sets of 50, which include chronological serial #'s on the $2 bills, and also have affixed to them, the 1976 US Flag stamps. These stamps were affixed in order as each state entered the ...
Teddydogno1 Well-Known Member. Yesterday I picked up a collection of coins and bills from a seller on Craig's List. It was a total face value of $53 for $60. The coins are an incomplete set of Statehood Quarters and incomplete set of Presidential dollar coins. Also included were two "folders" each with a 4-subject sheet of uncirculated $2 bills.
Oldhoopster Member of the ANA since 1982. April 13 1976 was the first day of issue for the redesigned $2 notes. I'm not sure if it was an official promotion, but you could get them from a bank and then go to the PO, buy a stamp, and have it cancelled. This was during the height of the bicentennial celebration.

You are assuming these are 1995 or newer. 1976's would require a serious effort to find a buyer willing to pay a premium. 1963 and older would command a premium easily. gatzdon,Aug 1, 2007. #4 + Quote Reply.
Dave M Francophiliac. Current (2013) sheets of these are available from the BEP for $18, $22 and $39. They are not the same year as the ones you have, but should give you an idea of retail value. Dave M, Nov 20, 2017. #4 + Quote Reply.
hotwheelsearl Well-Known Member. The way I collect modern bills is - find one example of each district, from each series. So I'll try to put together a set of, say 1988-2013 $1, with districts A-L. Being from San Diego, I have a near-complete set of "L" districts starting from like 1985 or so. hotwheelsearl, Jul 30, 2016.

All the bricks of $2 notes I get are from NY also. I am always tempted to try ordering from different states when I travel (like west coast) but then I'd have to carry that block onto the plane, which would be okay as long as TSA didn't expose it for all the world to see. keemao, Nov 27, 2017. #5 + Quote Reply.
This gives the appearance of more displacement on the back when it does not really exist. A misaligned bill will usually show one side off center, or part of another bill, while the other side is properly centered.
