Question. Im looking to get anyone experiences with UC San Diego’s extension courses, specifically the programming certifications. Im working full time as a programmer and my company will pay the tuition. I’m looking forward to taking them, I’d like to continue to expand my knowledge base for work. I’m leaning towards the C# Cert.
UC San Diego Extension. General. I'm a student from another school and I was thinking of taking Calc 1 (Math-40024) and Spanish 6 (LASP-40006) with UCSD Extended Studies and I was wondering for anyone who has taken either course how the workload was? Were the exams proctored? I'm working full time and I don't really have much study time.
Pre-med students taking UC San Diego extension courses to fulfill med-school pre-reqs. I'm an alumni. Thank you for your input! I also noticed UC SD’s course equivalent is condensed into about 3 months vs. Berkeley’s 6 months ... hopefully someone that took SD’s Immunology will chime in too so we can have both perspectives. If you take the self paced courses Berkeley will allow you to finish it between 3-6 months.

Berkeley ext quizzes and exams are supposed to be closed book. UCSD ext courses have an open book and open internet policy, but the quiz questions are designed to be tricky, and not so easy to Google. Obviously, Berkeley ext students don't follow the closed book policy as many quiz and exam questions are posted online.
The courses are 10-11 weeks long, and there is a quiz and discussion post due each week. I would personally recommend UCSD Extension for Genetics, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, and Immunology. There is a discussion post and quiz due each week. The quiz questions range from 18-35 for Biochem and 15-20 for Genetics.

Very few, if any UC San Diego Extension courses are considered UC transferable. Courses must be UC transferable to be able to get units at UCSD and to petition for requirements. The transcript is from UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD all have extension schools that have been around for a very long time and are reputable. The transcript doesn't mention if the course was taken online or in-person, but that info can be found through a simple Google search.
