The Cleveland Interurban Railroad (CIRR), the predecessor of the Green Line, was extended 2 ⁄ 5 mile (0.64 km) from Courtland station to Warrensville Road in 1928 using track removed from the Coventry Road connection between Shaker Boulevard and Fairmount Boulevard.
