Kentucky Route 255 (KY 255) is a 16.977-mile-long (27.322 km) south-north state highway located in south central Kentucky. It provides access to Interstate 65 and Mammoth Cave National park to residents of southern Barren County.
Kentucky Route 218 begins at the unincorporated Hart County community of Northtown west of Interstate 65 (I-65). It is the beginning of state maintenance as the main road west of Northtown is actually a locally maintained road (Flint Ridge Road) that leads to the Mammoth Cave National Park, and would provide a direct route to the park's visitor center in Edmonson County. The John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge is a six-lane, single-deck cantilever bridge that carries southbound Interstate 65 across the Ohio River, connecting Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana. The main span is 700 feet (213 m) (two spans) and the bridge has a total length of 2,498 feet (761 m). The span carries six southbound lanes.
