The Quincy Mining Company Stamp Mills Historic District is a historic stamp mill (used to crush copper-bearing rock, separating the copper ore from surrounding rock) located on M-26 near Torch Lake, just east of Mason in Osceola Township. Brockway Mountain is a 1,320-foot-tall (400 m) volcanic landform on the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan about five miles (8.0 km) west of Copper Harbor. [11] The top of the mountain is 720 feet (219 m) above the level of Lake Superior. [12] The peak was named for Daniel D. Brockway, local pioneer settler, postmaster and state road commissioner.
