The colorization is based on the following defining criteria of a minor planet's (MPs) orbital elements such as semimajor axis a, perihelion distance q, aphelion distance Q, and orbital eccentricity e. Figures below give the actual number distribution of MPs by color-coded orbital class. They are used in the color-coded partial lists of minor ...
Planets from the Solar System were also included for comparison purposes. Discovered in 2006, OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb is the coldest known exoplanet, and was nicknamed "Hoth" by NASA in reference to the planet from the Star Wars franchise. [1]
The Sun, planets, moons and dwarf planets (true color, size to scale, distances not to scale) The following outline is provided as an overview of and topical guide to the Solar System: Solar System – gravitationally bound system comprising the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly.
This is a partial list of named minor planets in numerical order. It contains a total of 772 entries as of 11 April 2022.Minor planets for which no article exist are displayed in grey color and redirect to the list of minor planets (see List of minor planets § Main index).
The following is a partial list of minor planets, running from minor-planet number 739001 through 740000, inclusive. The primary data for this and other partial lists is based on JPL's "Small-Body Orbital Elements" [1] and data available from the Minor Planet Center.
Kepler-42 c is a planet with a radius 0.73 times that of Earth. It orbits its star in a little less than 11 hours at about 0.006 AU of its host star and has an average equilibrium temperature of about 445 °C (833 °F). Due to the temperature, it is not suitable for life. It is tidally locked in a synchronous rotation.
The planet-star separation is 4.1 arcsec in JWST MIRI data and 4.8 arcsec in VLT VISIR data. It is undetected in VLT NaCo observations. [ 3 ] The temperature of 275 K is slightly warmer or similar to the nearby Y-dwarf WISE J0855−0714 (225 to 260 K or 285 K), making Epsilon Indi Ab likely one of the coldest objects to be directly imaged ...
