Mikasa Ackerman (ミカサ・アッカーマン, Mikasa Akkāman, alt. "Mikasa Ackermann") is a fictional character from Hajime Isayama's manga series Attack on Titan.Mikasa is introduced as a citizen of Paradis Island living with the protagonist, Eren Yeager, and his family, who took her in following the deaths of her parents in an attempted kidnapping.
Walking together in the woods, she and Eren encounter wolves eating the bodies of the would-be kidnappers, but when Eren approaches them, the wolves retreat. The two children gradually become friends and Eren tells Mikasa about his friend Armin and his dreams of joining the Survey Corps and visiting the outside world beyond the wall.
Grisha and Eren discovered the corpses during a visit and Eren tracked down the slave traders to a nearby hut and killed two of them to save Mikasa. The third slave trader began strangling him. Encouraged by Eren, Mikasa overcame her fear and gained resolve to kill the slave trader. Grisha took Mikasa in, and she now considers the Jaegers family.
