Quercus polymorpha, the Mexican white oak, Monterrey oak or netleaf white oak, is a North American species of oak.It is widespread in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, and known from a single population in the United States (about 30 kilometres or 19 miles north of the Río Grande in Val Verde County, Texas) but widely planted as an ornamental.
The Mexican blue oak is a small evergreen tree growing 5–8 metres (16–27 feet) tall with a rounded crown. At higher elevations it is typically a large shrub. The trunk is up to 50 centimetres (20 inches) in diameter and the bark is light gray and densely furrowed. The twigs are yellowish brown and hairless with reddish brown buds.
Quercus greggi, otherwise known as the Mexican oak, is a monoecious semi-evergreen oak that is adapted to survive in arid conditions. It is native to Mexico and commonly grow around 2,000–3,300 metres (6,600–10,800 ft) north of the 24th parallel and spreads across multiple locales.
