The College of Optometry is part of the Health Professions Division of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.The four year Doctor of Optometry program at NSU includes two years of basic sciences, optics, anatomy, pathology, physiology and pharmacology followed by clinical training in pediatrics, primary care, ocular disease, contact lenses, and rehabilitative (low vision) optometry.
In 1994, Nova University merged with Southeastern University of the Health Sciences to form Nova Southeastern University (NSU), adding the colleges of osteopathic medicine, [40] pharmacy, optometry and allied health to the university. [41] Following the merger, many of the health programs relocated to their current location on the Davie campus.
In 1996, Nova Southeastern University's College of Osteopathic Medicine moved from North Miami Beach, Florida to Davie, Florida.
