North Forest Ninth Grade Center. North Forest High School (NFHS) is a secondary school located in Houston, Texas, United States.The school is a part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD); it was a part of the North Forest Independent School District (NFISD) until the district closed on July 1, 2013.
North East ISD serves the cities of Castle Hills, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park, and Windcrest, and portions of San Antonio, Balcones Heights, Terrell Hills, and Timberwood Park. The current superintendent of Northside Independent School District is Dr. Brian Woods. Prior to his appointment in 2012, he was a social studies teacher, administrator, the assistant superintendent for secondary administration, and the named deputy superintendent for administration for the school district. As of the 2012-2013 school year, the district had a school attendance rate of 93.9%, the lowest such rate of all of the San Antonio-area school districts. Joshua Fechter of the San Antonio Express-News stated "Comparatively speaking" that this rate "does not differ much from other area districts whose rates hovers between 94-98 percent." [1]
On July 8, 2011, the TEA announced that North Forest High School and North Forest ISD would receive an "Academically Unacceptable" rating and the district would be assigned a "Non-Accredited-Revoked" accreditation for the school year 2011-2012 and was to be closed by July 1, 2012.

Opened in 1998, O'Connor High School followed the tradition of all the Northside high schools in being named after a Supreme Court justice, Sandra Day O'Connor, who served from 1981 to 2006, and was the first female justice on United States Supreme Court. The Academy of Creative Education (ACE) is a nationally recognized, non-traditional, non-punitive model high school for students at risk of dropping out in the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. ACE was established in 1991 to offer classes for at-risk youth between 16-21 years old.
