Herman Feshbach (2 February 1917 – 22 December 2000) was an American physicist. He was an Institute Professor Emeritus of physics at MIT . Feshbach is best known for Feshbach resonance and for writing, with Philip M. Morse , Methods of Theoretical Physics .

Morse graduated from the Case School of Applied Science in 1926 with a B.S. in physics. [2] He earned his Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University in 1929. [3] In 1930, he was granted an International Fellowship, which he used to do postgraduate study and research at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich under Arnold Sommerfeld during the winter of 1930 to the spring of 1931.
