Clouds form when the dew point temperature of water is reached in the presence of condensation nuclei in the troposphere. The atmosphere is a dynamic system, and the local conditions of turbulence, uplift, and other parameters give rise to many types of clouds. Various types of cloud occur frequently enough to have been categorized.
Asperitas (formerly known as Undulatus asperatus) is a cloud formation first popularized and proposed as a type of cloud in 2009 by Gavin Pretor-Pinney of the Cloud Appreciation Society. Added to the International Cloud Atlas as a supplementary feature in March 2017, it is the first cloud formation added since cirrus intortus in 1951. [2]
Clouds of the genus cumulonimbus have very-dark-gray-to-nearly-black flat bases and very high tops that can penetrate the tropopause. They develop from cumulus when the air mass is convectively highly unstable. They generally produce thunderstorms, rain or showers, and sometimes hail, strong outflow winds, and/or tornadoes at ground level.

Examples of computer clip art, from Openclipart. Clip art (also clipart, clip-art) is a type of graphic art. Pieces are pre-made images used to illustrate any medium. Today, clip art is used extensively and comes in many forms, both electronic and printed. However, most clip art today is created, distributed, and used in a digital form.
A composite black-and-white photograph showing cirrus clouds over the surface of Mars Cirrus clouds on Neptune, captured during Voyager 2's flyby. Cirrus clouds have been observed on several other planets. In 2008, the Martian Lander Phoenix took a time-lapse photograph of a group of cirrus clouds moving across the Martian sky using lidar. [80]
These clouds are often ragged or wispy in appearance. When caught in the outflow beneath a thunderstorm, scud clouds will often move faster than the storm clouds themselves. If the parent cloud that scud clouds pair with were to suddenly dissipate, the pannus cloud accessory would not be able to be told apart from a fractus cloud formation.
Attached to many wall clouds, especially in moist environments, is a cauda [1] (tail cloud), a tail-like band of cloud extending from the wall cloud toward the precipitation core. [6] It can be thought of as an extension of the wall cloud in that the tail cloud is connected to the wall cloud and condensation forms for a similar reason.
