Tumble (Welsh: Y Tymbl), is a village situated south of Cross Hands near the towns of Carmarthen and Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Tumble, along with Cross Hands is part of the community of Llannon . [ 1 ]
Evan Thomas (died after 1881) was a Welsh ironmonger who became an inventor and manufacturer of safety lamps for miners. He was the original proprietor of the Cambrian Lamp Works, established in Aberdare in 1860.
In May 2000, a six-foot (1.8 m) replica Miner's Lamp monument was unveiled at the entrance of Rhondda Heritage Park. According to the plaque on the monument it was erected "as a memorial to all those who through accident, disaster or disease, lost their lives or otherwise suffered as a result of the mining industry of the South Wales coalfield".

Exacerbating the structural and economic nature of this crisis was The 1943 Workmen's Compensation Act , a landmark law addressing pneumoconiosis.
