Provincial Trunk Highways 1 and 75, as well as the Perimeter Highway (PTH 100/PTH 101), are the most important and are divided highways for most of their length with some sections at expressway or freeway standards.
The current PTH 4 first appeared on the 1989–90 Manitoba Highway Map. [4] The current route has no relation to the previous PTH 4, which was a major transportation route in the province. Originally, PTH 4 (which first appeared on the 1928 Manitoba Highway Map [ 5 ] ) started its course in Portage la Prairie at a junction with PTH 1 .
PTH 41 begins in the Rural Municipality of Wallace - Woodworth at a junction with PTH 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) in Kirkella, with the road continuing southward as PR 542.It heads due northward to enter the Rural Municipality of Ellice - Archie, traveling through rural farmland for several kilometers to travel past Manson, where it has an intersection with PR 467 and crosses a creek.

Provincial Road 261 (PR 261) is a 61.0-kilometre-long (37.9 mi) east–west highway in the Parkland and Central Plains Regions of Manitoba. It provides a connection between the communities of Riding Mountain, Kelwood, Glenella, Waldersee, and Amaranth, as well as a link between Riding Mountain National Park and Lake Manitoba.
Provincial Road 260 (PR 260) is a 40.9-kilometre-long (25.4 mi) north–south highway in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba. It connects the communities of Gladstone and Keyes with Ogilvie, Plumas, Waldersee, Tenby, and via PR 261, Amaranth and the western shore of Lake Manitoba.
It allows traffic going through Brandon to bypass the city, and provides easier access to the industrial areas located on the east side of the city. The route is an important component of the city of Brandon's truck route network, as it allows dangerous goods carriers to minimize risks and traffic in urban neighbourhoods.
