JSW Ispat Steel Ltd (JISL) was an Indian company with operations in iron, steel, mining, energy and infrastructure. It was set up as Nippon Denro Ispat Limited in May 1984 by founding chairman M. L. Mittal. [3] It was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India until 2013 when it was merged with JSW Steel. [4]

The Iligan Steel Mill was acquired in 2004 by Ispat Industries Ltd of India. [1] The company faced financial and labor issues, which led to the facility's closure in 2009. [2] The city government of Iligan has attempted to auction off the 400-hectare steel mill in 2016 but there were no interested bidders. [2]
Mittal Steel Company was formed as Ispat International in 1978. At the time it was part of the Indian Steel company Ispat Industries which had been founded by Lakshmi Mittal's father in 1984. It was owned by the Mittal family, but in 1995 Ispat International separated from Ispat Industries after various disagreements between Lakshmi and his father.

Then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo witnessed his acquisition of the Mill which was formerly known as the National Steel Corporation or NSC-which for many years was known as Asia's first and largest. [1] Since December 2023, it is owned by the Qazaqstan Investment Corporation.
JSW Kalmeshwar Works: It is India's first coated steel manufacturing facility, producing galvanized, Galvalume, and pre-painted galvanized/galvalume steel. The plant was acquired by the company from Ispat Steel, is situated 30 kilometers from Nagpur in Central India. [29]
