The Hotel Constance was founded by Pasadena businesswoman Constance V. L. Perry. [2] It was constructed on property leased for 20 years by the Orndorff Hotel Company [3] and opened on December 3, 1926. It was one of 18 major hotels in Pasadena at the time. The original Mansard Victorian 200 room facility burned down on Easter morning of 1895 and was not rebuilt until 1903. It was razed during the Great Depression to make way for residential development. The Maryland Hotel existed from the early 1900s and was demolished in 1937 to make way for the Pasadena branch of the Broadway Department Store. [8]
In 1924, the Pasadena Historical Society began to collect information about the area's history, with one filing cabinet of material collected by volunteers. In 1932, the historical society was given a room at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. In 1958, the collection moved to the Pasadena Public Library where it was maintained by volunteers.

The Hotel Green, also known as Castle Green, was a hotel in Pasadena, California. It was built in 1893 by George Gill Green, and later expanded by him with two additional buildings in 1898 and 1903, creating a complex of three structures. The Hotel Green was the home of the Valley Hunt Club and the Tournament of Roses association. [citation needed]
