Robert Kenneth Strachan (1910–1965) was the first son to Harry and Susan Strachan, the founders of the Latin America Mission (LAM). In 1945, Strachan became a religious missionary and succeeded his father's position as co-director of LAM.
He then served under Major General James Van Fleet as deputy commander of the American Mission to Greece during the Greek Civil War. Harper was restored to the rank of major general on 24 January 1948. On 1 December he joined the staff of Commander-in-Chief, United States Naval Forces Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean, based in London.
