Shalini Ajith Kumar (formerly known as Baby Shalini; born 20 November 1979), known mononymously as Shalini is a former Indian actress and child artist who worked in Malayalam and Tamil films. During the 80s, Shalini was the most successful child artist in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films.

Ajith began his acting career through a one-scene appearance as a school child in En Veedu En Kanavar (1990). Through the recommendation of S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, whose son was a classmate of Ajith, he was cast in his first lead role in the Telugu romantic drama Prema Pusthakam (1993), which remains his only Telugu film to date.

Ajith Kumar Haridas hailed from Kottayam, Kerala. He was one of six children born to Haridasan and Devakiamma in 1962. His father was a railway officer and mother was a house wife. He completed his primary education at Krist Raj High School, Kollam and Bachelors in Arts Degree from Sree Narayana College, Kollam. [4]
