St. Croix is the largest of the territory's islands. As of the 2020 U.S. census, its population was 41,004. [2] The island's highest point is Mount Eagle, at 355 meters (1,165 ft). St. Croix's nickname is "Twin City", for its two towns, Frederiksted on the western end and Christiansted on the northeast part of the island.
Dam had moved to St. Croix in 1941. He had previously worked as manager of the plantations St. Georgs Gill, Hope and Hoegenborg. In 1865, Dam Kofoed sold Sprat Hall to Jens Kofoed. Dam became manager of Sion Hill before moving back to Borbnholm in 1873. Hens Kofoed was also from Bornholm. He was born at Klemensker in 1821.
Estate Judith's Fancy, subdistrict of Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Christiansted is a former sugarcane plantation whose great house was built in 1733. [2] Its surviving 3.6 acres (1.5 ha) property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The listing included six contributing sites. [1]
Bethlehem Old Work is a settlement on the island of Saint Croix in the United States Virgin Islands.It was set-up as one of the first plantations in the 1730s, and operated as the last sugar plantation on the island until the Bethlehem Central Factory closed in 1966.
