Appointment with Death is a 1988 American mystery film and sequel produced and directed by Michael Winner. Made by Golan - Globus Productions, the film is an adaptation of the 1938 Agatha Christie novel Appointment with Death featuring the detective Hercule Poirot .

She starred in the thriller Appointment with Death (1988) and William Friedkin's horror film The Guardian (1990). She later played Louisa Gould in Another Mother's Son (2017). She is known for her role as the character of Jo Mills in the long-running BBC drama series Judge John Deed (2001–07).
The film was followed by several made-for-television films (Thirteen at Dinner, Murder in Three Acts, Dead Man's Folly) starring Ustinov, as well as the feature film Appointment With Death in 1988, which marked his final portrayal of Hercule Poirot.
In 1974, Murder on the Orient Express was released, starring Albert Finney as Poirot. As Finney was unable to reprise his role for the sequel, Death on the Nile (1978), Peter Ustinov was cast in the part and reprised it for Evil under the Sun in 1982, Thirteen at Dinner (1985), Dead Man's Folly, and Murder in Three Acts (1986).
