Realizing that Miguel plans to kill LaGuerta, Dexter sets up a trap, tricking him into thinking he is meeting LaGuerta to reveal Ellen's murder. He sedates Miguel, and takes him to Ellen's house for the kill table. Miguel tries to get Dexter to understand him, calling him his brother.
