Beulah Park opened in Grove City, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, in 1923.It was the first thoroughbred racetrack in Ohio.At its close it was one of only three tracks in Ohio to offer live thoroughbred racing, the others being Thistledown in North Randall and River Downs in Cincinnati.
To avoid having Raceway Park compete with its own Hollywood Casino Toledo, Penn National sought and obtained state approval to move Raceway Park to Dayton. [4] The racetrack move was completed in the spring of 2014. [5] The racino opened on August 28, 2014 with 1,000 video lottery terminals.
