The Sagamore is a Victorian-era resort hotel located on Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York. It occupies the private Green Island on Lake George. Since 1983, it has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. [citation needed]
Bolton Landing is a hamlet and census-designated places in the town of Bolton in Warren County, New York. [1] It is located on Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains.It is a common tourist destination and the closest town to the State Park lands and islands of the Lake George Narrows.
The Fort William Henry Hotel, in what is now Lake George Village, and The Sagamore in Bolton Landing opened at this time to serve tourists. The wealthiest visitors were more likely to stay with their peers at their private country estates. [citation needed] The Silver Bay YMCA on Lake George was constructed in 1900.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km 2), all land.It is situated beside Lake George.The village is located approximately 50 miles (80 km) north of Albany and about 200 miles (320 km) north of New York City and northwest of Boston, Massachusetts.

The Hulett family settled near Lake George c. 1804, possibly because of a land grant offered to veterans in lieu of wages for service.
