Thing is Hurd Hatfield was an American, born in New York City moving to England at age 19 to study on a scholarship. I remember reading that Angela Lansbury bought the painting of him from "Dorian Gray" and gifted it to him. After his death, it was eventually sold at auction at Christie's in NYC in 2015.

[quote]Too ugly: Hurd Hatfield in The Picture of Dorian Gray. He looked like a mummy. I actually thought Hurd Hatfield worked rather well in that role since Dorian Gray is supposed to be an artificial & unnatural looking character. (And the film has a good performance by George Sanders and an Oscar-nominated role from DL fave Angela Lansbury.)

Francis Lederer is absolutely hysterical as the evil butler, and Burgess Meredith and Florence Bates are a hoot as the next door neighbors.

The talented comedic ladies of Mad tv. They were all so funny that they should have been given more parts in films. Instead studios hand out roles to even the dullest SNL alumni like candy but ignore women like Nicole Sullivan, Debra Wilson, Stephnie Weir, and Mo Collins. by Anonymous.

  7. Jared Kushner's physical appearance - the Data Lounge

There's a portrait of Jared in his attic that is getting old, ugly, and hideously diseased. Kushner resembles the painting from the 1945 movie The Portrait of Dorian Gray, based on the novel by Oscar Wilde. The actor was Hurd Hatfield. Real Housewives eyebrows.

October 24, 2020 2:10 AM. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall features a great guest turn from Jean Simmons as a once popular mystery writer now eclipsed by Jessica. Simmons was the only guest actor nominated for Murder She Wrote at the Emmys. Wearing of the Green - a very funny send-up of Cagney and Lacey.

  10. I get Jeff Daniels and Bill Pullman confused with each other.

I imagine they are easily mixed up because they are never the lead actor, Jeff and Bill are often the boyfriend / husband / lover / supporting role for the lead actress. By the end of the movie they are no longer involved with the lead. Bill Pullman was in THE LAST SEDUCTION, RUTHLESS PEOPLE and THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST.
