Rotonda West is an unincorporated, deed-restricted planned community situated in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The 2020 U.S. Census Bureau lists it as the Rotonda census-designated place , with a population of 10,114, up from 8,759 at the 2010 census.
From CR 771, Placida Road heads northwest as a two-lane road passing between the coast and Rotonda West. Just before Rotonda Boulevard, Placida Road expands to four lanes and passes through Grove City. It then enters Englewood and cones to its northern terminus at SR 776. [33]

Don Pedro Island is a barrier island in southwest Florida, in Charlotte County. It is just north of Little Gasparilla Island, separated by a thin strip of beach and mangrove swamp. It lies west of the census-designated place Rotonda West, separated by a narrow channel.
Englewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte and Sarasota counties in the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 20,800, up from 14,863 at the 2010 census. It is part of the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Charlotte County gained ownership of the right of way in 1985, and the first portion of the trail was built in 1999 from the Mercer trailhead to Rotonda Boulevard. It was extended over Coral Creek to the Coral Creek Golf Club in 2005. The southernmost portion along County Road 771 from Coral Creek Country Club to Placida was completed in 2010.
After the 1945 Florida State Road renumbering, the east-west segment of the route from Englewood to McCall was designated as SR 776. The rest of the route from Englewood northwest to US 41 became part of SR 775, which also continued south to Placida on Cape Haze .
