The Canon EOS M50, called Canon EOS Kiss M in Japan, is a digital mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera announced by Canon on February 25, 2018 [1] and sale began on March 23, 2018. [2] [3] As with all of the Canon EOS M series cameras, the M50 uses the Canon EF-M lens mount. An adapter is available for use with Canon EF lenses.
The Canon EF-M was a manual-focus 35mm film, SLR camera which used the Canon EF lens mount. It was introduced in 1991 for export to the non-Japanese market, and was the only manual focus camera in the EF line. It was not sold as part of the EOS range; the camera's official name was Canon EF-M rather than Canon EOS EF-M.
The EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM is an interchangeable prime lens introduced by Canon in September 2018. The lens is based on the EF-M mount that is used in Canon's lineup of mirrorless cameras. It currently is the latest lens published that uses the EF-M lens mount. With a maximum value of f/1.4, it has the largest aperture of all Canon EF-M mount lenses.

The M system has an 18 mm flange focal distance (compared to 20 mm for RF and 44 mm for EF and EF-S) and a 47 mm throat diameter (compared to 54 mm for EF, EF-S, and RF). As it is designed for use with an APS-C -sized image sensor , it features the same crop factor (of roughly 1.6) as the existing EF-S lens mount.
