KXTQ-FM (106.5 MHz), known as "Magic 106.5", is a radio station owned by Ramar Communications Inc. of Lubbock. The station's community of license is Lubbock, Texas, and it serves the greater Lubbock area with an ERP of 34 kW. Its studios and transmitter are located in south Lubbock.
The station later shifted back toward its original approach, but the heritage KWOD on-air staff (Boomer & The Dave, Andy Sims, Nick Monroe, and Capone) did not return. Under Entercom's management, KWOD's overall 12+ ratings dropped under a 3 share throughout 2005 and 2006. In the Winter of 2007, KWOD's 12+ ratings fell below a 2 share.
KWOD originated as the expanded band "twin" of an existing station on the standard AM band. On March 17, 1997, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that eighty-eight stations had been given permission to move to newly available "Expanded Band" transmitting frequencies, ranging from 1610 to 1700 kHz, with then-WREN in Kansas City, Kansas authorized to move from 1250 to 1660 kHz.

KLZK-FM (105.7 MHz, "Classical 105.7") is a radio station licensed to Idalou, Texas and serving the Lubbock, Texas area. KLZK is owned by Lubbock Public Media. On July 1, 2024, KLZK-FM changed their format from hot adult contemporary, which moved to KTTU-HD4, to classical music branded as "Classical 105.7".
KRKH and KSEL (AM) came back under common ownership in 1961, when the stations were acquired by one-time state representative R.B. "Mac" McAlister and his son, future Lubbock mayor Bill McAlister. KRKH-FM was renamed KSEL-FM. Its power was increased to 100,000 watts and height increased to 736 ft from the 84th and L tower of KAMC (TV).
