Aisha bint Abi Bakr [a] (c. 613/614 CE – July 678) was a sixth century commander, [8] politician, [9] muhadditha, [10] and the third and youngest wife of prophet Muhammad. [11] [12] Aisha had an important role in early Islamic history, both during Muhammad's life and after his death.
Close to Aisha's age, the two younger wives Hafsa and Zaynab were welcomed into the household. Sawda, who was much older, extended her motherly benevolence to the younger women. Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr (Arabic: أسماء بنت أبي بكر; c. 594/595 – 694-695CE) nicknamed Dhat an-Nitaqayn (meaning she with the two belts) was one of the companions of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and half-sister of his third wife Aisha. Her nickname Dhat an-Nitaqayn was given to her by Muhammad during the migration to Medina.
She was born in circa 589 or 594. [1] She was the daughter of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb and Safiyyah bint Abi al-'As. [1] Abu Sufyan was the chief of the Umayya clan, and he was the leader of the whole Quraysh tribe and the most powerful opponent of Muhammad in the period 624–630.
The children of Muhammad are said to have been born to his first wife Khadija bint Khuwaylid, except his son Ibrahim, who was born to Maria al-Qibtiyya. None of Muhammad's sons reached adulthood, but he had an adult foster son, Zayd ibn Harithah. Daughters of Muhammad all reached adulthood but only Fatima survived her father.

Safiyya bint Huyayy (Arabic: صفية بنت حيي Ṣafiyya bint Ḥuyayy) was a Jewish convert to Islam [1] from the Banu Nadir tribe. After the Battle of Khaybar in 628, she was widowed and taken captive by the early Muslims and subsequently became Muhammad's tenth wife. [2]
