Sesquicentennial State Park, commonly referred to as "Sesqui" (/sɛskwɪ/), is a state park located in the Sandhills region of South Carolina. The park covers 1,419 acres (5.74 km 2 ) and is situated approximately 12 miles (19 km) from downtown Columbia, South Carolina .
It is a straight and mostly paved path utilized for walking, jogging, roller skating, and off-street cycling. The distance of the main trail currently covers 8.8 miles (14.2 km). [ 1 ] It is a contributing segment of the East Coast Greenway .
Finlay Park, at 14 acres (57,000 m 2), is the largest and most visited park in downtown Columbia, South Carolina. The park opened in 1991. Initially named Sidney Park, it was renamed after a former Columbia mayor Kirkman Finlay in 1994. In the park there was a scenic waterfall along with cascading mountain type stream falling to the park lake.
