The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference that competes in the NCAA's Division III. In women's gymnastics , it competes alongside Division I and II members, as the NCAA sponsors a single championship event open to members of all NCAA divisions.
In 1982, the WIAA approved cooperative teams, allowing two or more schools to combine to form a team in a sport where neither school has enough athletes to run the sport on its own. The schools are generally referred to by a hyphenated version of their school names, although some choose a unique team nickname and mascot.
The North Eastern Conference is a high school athletic conference made up of ten teams in northeastern Wisconsin, centering primarily around the Green Bay, Fox Valley and Marinette County areas. Conference schools are members of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association.

The conference was part of an overall southeastern Wisconsin conference realignment plan in 2017. The WIAA-approved changes for the 2017–18 school year added Germantown High School and Wauwatosa West High School and sent West Allis Central High School to the Woodland Conference.
