My renewal quote is 49% up on last year. Normal risk driver, family car not special, not an EV. I've been updating my car insurance quotes on 3 of the largest price comparison sites for 10 days. It's now 30 days to renewal. In the last 10 days the best prices have not changed more than £5. I'm looking forward to day 23 when it halves.....

I normally do car insurance through comparison sites such as MSE, Confused, GoCompare etc and for at least 10+ years the way I have done it for myself and other family members who don't have access to the internet, is to "shop" within the first 30 days of our car insurances expiring.

Every year the car insurance renewal arrives and is massively more expensive that last year. Every year I hit the comparison sites and find a similar deal to last year.
