Fortress Festival was an annual music festival held in the Cultural District of Fort Worth, Texas.The event was held the last weekend in April on the grounds of the Will Rogers Memorial Center, and was produced by Fort Worth-based company Fortress Presents in partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, which also served as one of the event's venues in its first two years.

The festival was put together by four organizations: the Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc., Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Department, Streams and Valleys, Inc., and the Tarrant Regional Water District. Mayfest became an annual event, and in 1987 it was incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
The South Texas State Fair traces its roots to the first confirmable fair in Beaumont, held in 1907. With the exception of cancellations in 1917–18, 1942–45, 2005, 2008 & 2020 because of World War I, World War II, Hurricane Rita, Hurricane Ike & COVID-19 pandemic respectively, the fair has continued every year since.
