An unofficial community about Apple and all of its devices and software. MagSafe Battery Pack removed from Online Store. I wonder if they’re done with it for good, or if they’re eventually gonna release an updated USB-C version. Maybe… imo, this product was designed to cater to the mini crowd.
It sits there indicating it does, but had it on for a solid teochours and only lost 5% battery. Haven’t charged anything. So what you can expect: It doesn’t charge your phone. It might help decreasing battery loss (somehwat) but it depends if that’s worth it.
I have a fake where the icon is on the battery widget and screen animation when attached. Serial number is wrong per Apple, mismatched serial number from box to engraving on battery, “charge past 90%” doesn’t appear, doesn’t appear in Settings > General > About > MagSafe Battery Pack, and weighs less than the spec weight of the battery (105g fake vs 114 g real)
Charging wirelessly generates heat. Slap on a magsafe battery at 30% and the phone will attempt to charge it using the power in the MagSafe battery pack. It behaves differently when charge levels are higher, losing less of the power contained within to heat as the iPhone can, essentially, sip from it.
Some of the Anker battery pack models I've seen so far are 321, 334, 533, 621, 622, 622 with popsocket, 622 with charger port on the side and 633. Anker also recently (this month) released a new line of Qi2 accesories, with a new magsafe compatible battery pack that states it charges devices at a 15w rate, but I don't think that line of ...
Wired will always be better, way more power efficient and generates less heat, and heat is bad for batteries. Reply reply. [deleted] •. Wired charging generates less heat at the same charging level (IE, 15W vs 15W). This is why most phones, iPhone included, charge faster when wired. With Magsafe, you can expect the iPhone to get roughly as as ...
MagSafe battery pack made by apple is great as a device to increase the capacity of your iPhone as a daily usage type of device. If you’re in a pinch or emergency and need power ASAP it’s too slow. Imho it was a waste of money for my use case. It also doesn’t have enough capacity to fully charge your phone once. 1.
AliExpress battery pack will give you some trouble to start charging but will eventually charge at 8W. However it will suddenly stop and then give you more trouble to start charging. In conclusion, if you are looking to buy a magsafe battery pack, I would recommend one of Anker, ESR, VoltMe.
Dec 21, 2016. 1,787. 2,319. Feb 15, 2023. #10. The MagSafe battery pack is a lifesaver if you have a Mini. I had the 12 Mini and required it after a year or so as the battery health had decreased. The trick to using the battery pack is to wait until your phone drops to 25-30% before using it.
Sort by: 2bit2much. • 6 mo. ago. The Apple MagSafe battery pack was designed for the minis. They fit it perfectly. From the phone at zero it will only charge up to about 70%, but if you use it more like an extender (attach the battery pack when the phone is full rather than use it as a charger when phone is low) you'll get a lot more out of it.
