Bustang service began on July 13, 2015. [1] Service was originally provided along three lines: the West Line from Denver to Glenwood Springs along I-70, the North Line from Denver to Fort Collins along I-25, and the South Line from Denver to Colorado Springs also along I-25.
The highway continues east through interchanges with US 85 in Fort Lupton and I-76 in Hudson. Farther east, the route bends north about 12 miles (19 km) south of Wiggins where it begins its concurrency with I-76, US 6, and US 34 eastward to Fort Morgan where it again turns north and traverses to Raymer , where it ends at SH 14.
Beginning in Golden, US 40 becomes Colfax Avenue, the main east–west thoroughfare through the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Area. Along with US 40, the entire route along Colfax Avenue is cosigned as Business Loop 70. The route travels northeast through Golden, then turns due east to travel through Lakewood, Denver, and Aurora.
