Nazareth University (also known as Naz) is a private university in Pittsford, New York. It offers over 60 undergraduate majors [5] and more than two dozen graduate programs. The college was previously Nazareth College of Rochester, or Nazareth College.

In 1914, Margaret Packard became the first recipient of the O’Brien scholarship and Nazareth's first graduate in 1918 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Sister Mary Celestine Connors, S.S.J., served as Acting Dean of the college from 1918 to 1932 when she became the college's first President, a post she held until 1938.
By this time, 130 schools were officially affiliated with NACURH, tripling the number of members from 1967. NACURH's mailing list also officially included member schools or contacts in all fifty states, plus several Canadian schools. The National Information Center (NIC) was also created in 1968.
When Spalding University, originally called Nazareth College, opened in 1920, its sole building was the 1871 structure known as the Tompkins-Buchanan-Rankin House. This Italianate building was designed and built by architect Henry Whitestone for the family of Joseph T. Tompkins, a wealthy dry-goods merchant and importer.
