I even checked it because my laptop's internal mic is very bad and has limited volume. I did an audio test in which I recorded using Voice Recorder, using the input device that was Microphone Realtek (R) Audio. It was indeed my laptop's internal mic. My headset has a clearer mic and it's not like any of that cheap stuff you see in the stores.
