1191 posts · Joined 2016. #14 · Feb 7, 2024. The trucks OEM wheel wells space has there limits and will dictate what will fit and if lifting it using frame spacers and the likes bigger wheels and tires can be used. A stock OEM wheel (15") has its limits for tire size.
The widest they come is 9" so I'm going with 18x9s in the rear and 18x8s in the front. I hate to skinny up the rears but they shouldn't rub and 1" in width really won't be that noticeable. There are a LOT of wheels to pick from and I looked for a good while before I decided on them. Reply Like.
Vacuum Line Mess. The diagram is as is now. 1986 Chevy C10. 305 w/ TH350c trans. ERG and smog deleted. The ESC computer is disconnected. The original carb has been replaced with an Edelbrock 1906. The old distributor with no vacuum advance has been replaced with a new Accel one with vacuum advance.
I assume there were wheels on the truck when you bought it? Check their backset & do the math to see how far you can go. 60-66 1/2 ton trucks had 215/70/15's on 15x6 wheels & 3-3/4" backset. I'm going to discuss the rear only because the rear fender is lower. Chevy's use a rear panhard bar that makes the axle move in an arc on bumps.

Please post pics of your ride with 18 " or 20" wheels. If possible, also post tire size and how many inches you lowered your ride (if applicable). Below is one of the options I'm looking at for wheels.
The spare on my C10 is mounted on what may be a correct wheel - it measures 15" x 5 1/2", 6 lug on 5 1/2" bolt circle and 3 9/16" center hole. My 64 I decided to add disc brakes using early 70s chevy parts. Got rotors that would keep the 6 lugs. Can't afford to swap rears and buy 4 new wheels at this time.

And you can use a bracket and add power steering. At a fraction of the cost to convert the original suspension to 6 lug disk brakes.
