Years ago, I bought a 40SW "conversion" on this site. It came in its own box and came with a slide, barrel and 10 round magazine. I regularly put this on my 9mm frame for two gun matches. I later found a spare buffer for sale here. So I can switch to 40 in seconds. I was hoping to get a 9mm upper as well, but they are like hens teeth.
Finally got around to shooting it today, engaged steel plates at 30 and 40 paces, put 100 rounds of 147 gr ...
USP40 was my first gun 18 years ago and I still have (and love) it today. Can't go wrong, especially with the lem match trigger. That said, it sits in safe and I shoot the vp40 a bunch because it is extremely accurate, a joy to shoot and fits my hand better. The trigger on the vp40 was great out of the box and is even better after 600 rounds.
I read about the plasti-dip years ago when cutting foam in an aluminum Remington case from an auction. The foam was one piece so no issues with it not staying stuck together. The benefit presented was the spray seals the open cell foam to help with the issue of the foam being exposed to and retaining humidity.
I remember responding to a similar thread on here some years ago regarding a VP45, after much research I was able to find some hope as there is a listing in the MD handgun roster showing approval for a HK VP45. Given the popularity of 9mm, I figured it would be many years before the 45 hit the market.
The P2000s been out a long time now in both 9mm and .40. I had heard years ago that it was designed around 9mm and was ported up to .40. As such, .40 would beat it up, and it would have issues like spring breakages. Are there people out there that have had long term high round count P2000 .40s and could speak to their long term reliability?

I have looked constantly for 30 years since I bought these to find REAL HK 30’s. Zero luck. Literally thousands of searches over 30 years. ralphs 40’’s were considered many times. But too long for any rest or bipod use. As are the 30’s almost. Put them away for my legal FA use someday in Kalifornia. Waitied 30+ years so far.
Plus there is the additional cost of 10mm ammo verses .40 S&W. I'm looking to use either a .40 S&W or a 10mm for subgun competition. I can't ever imagine having to use it against a real adversary. If I did, I would go to a rifle caliber. With some minor checking the 10mm auto seems to be about twice or more than what .40 S&W ammo is selling for.
