By the hour might be better BUT I still need to handle them and a 8" log at the big end @ 16ft is going to be heavy. It might be a project for next year, with winter coming I need to put away my mill. I don't work in the winter because of the salt on the roads.. it destroys all things steel.

thanks for all the help, for now i have to establish some trails and won't cut any of the big stuff untill I feel comfortable with directional felling, lots of practice to do. For now I will only cut the dead, the crooked and the dying. This is going to be a long term project ;)
I've added wheels to the back and a hitch to some steel to let me pull it around like a cart since these pictures were taken. It's designed to catch rock in a five gallon bucket so at least I'll have that to show on paths if there isn't any gold. :D Now I have to buy a pump. I'm going gas powered for volume. That's a good looking high banker.
One was: Elongation = (Load x Length) / (Area* x the Modulus of elasticity for the blade steel) * for the area I multiplied the blade thickness by the length between the gullet root and the back of the blade. (ie the narrowest width) Then I fired up the sawmill and tightened the band to 3000 psi with the blade engaged.
