SCORE International (Southern California Off Road Enthusiasts) is an off-road racing sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing. Founded by Mickey Thompson in 1973, SCORE International was purchased from Sal Fish [1] in late 2012. [2] and is run by its current president and race director Jose A. Grijalva and General Manager Juan Tintos.
It was first held in 1982 and is sanctioned by SCORE International. The 2016 edition was the 30th anniversary of the race, occurring from February 25–28 in a loop format. The 2016 SCORE San Felipe 250 was the first round of a four-race series, including the SCORE Desert Challenge, the SCORE Baja 500 & the SCORE Baja 1000 .
Mickey Thompson raced desert trucks in the SCORE International series. Thompson said that he was seen "by nothing but cactus and jackrabbits." Roger's father Don R. Norman had a passion for off-roading and brought Roger into the sport. Don Norman is 78 years of age recently competed in the SCORE Baja 1000 for the first time along with seven other family members. The car was sponsored by Roger Norman and finished 3rd in class and 119th overall.

Salvator Anthony Fish [1] (born May 2, 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a retired CEO/President of SCORE International, the leading sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing. The SCORE race series include the Baja 1000 , Baja 500 , San Felipe 250 , Primm 300 , Laughlin Desert Challenge and Las Vegas Terrible's Cup.
LOORRS released its 2021 schedule in October 2020 at only three tracks. [5] On November 13, Lucas Oil Products announced that it has ended sponsoring and operating the LOORRS series. [ 6 ] This closure left COR (and the dissimilar Stadium Super Trucks ) as the only short course off-road racing sanctioning bodies remaining. [ 7 ]
