The fifth-generation F-Series was introduced in Brazil in 1972, where it remained in production until 1992. [11] It was divided in three different models: F-100, F-1000 and F-4000
1979 Ford F-100 Custom, Australian-market version with right-hand drive Ford F-100 Ranger XLT. For 1978, the split grille gave way to a larger single-piece item which no longer incorporated the headlamps, the turn signals, or the ford callout. The headlamps were located in housings outboard of the grille, with the turn signal lamps below them.
1995 Ford Ranger Splash (regular cab) Introduced for the 1993 model year, the Ranger Splash was a sub-model of the second-generation Ranger. Alongside the Flareside pickup bed, the Splash was fitted with a lowered suspension (1 inch in rear, 2 inches in front for 2WD versions); all versions were fitted with 4×4 Ranger grilles.
Although a 1960 Corsair was never produced, Ford did originally consider offering it as a deluxe upgrade from the Ranger series. At least one prototype was produced, a two-door hardtop based on the Ford Galaxie Starliner. The prototype featured the 1960 Edsel grille, but with a huge vertical chrome bar at its center, rising above the hood line.
The look was updated with an inverted pentagonal grille with all-vertical bars beneath a prominent hood and three horizontal chrome side strips (on DeLuxe models). The V8 DeLuxe was called Model 68. A concealed horn, long a prominent part of the Ford's design, also brought the car into modern times. The new trucks continued with the old grille.
Some Ford dealers such as McLeod Ford in Sydney (well-known at the time for their Horn cars) chose to add accessories such as front and rear spoilers, and/or to modify the interior seating to feature colourful cloth or vinyl inserts. Ford's records show that 700 John Goss Special XB Hardtops were built, however, how many remain is unknown.
