WW2 in HD- The Air War is a very good documentary about the American daylight bombing campaign over Germany. You can find it on YouTube pretty easily. 'Apocalypse: The Second World War' hasn't been mentioned yet, not too long and very impactful still. Amazing soundtrack too.
The Cold Blue is a good one about the 8th Air Force. WWII's Greatest Raids is a pretty good Documentary Series about Special Operations told by the Survivors and recreated with 3D Technology. It only has 1 Season but in Germany there are somehow 2.

I've posted a lot of history documentaries, both here and on r/documentaries, and people seem genuinely interested in where exactly I find these. We live in a time where people can make a living at conducting research for and making high quality, and usually pretty succinct, history documentaries on Youtube.
What’s with the blurred out censorship of documentary features on youtube? I’m watching a number of WW2 documentaries from very legitimate sources and the screen will have blurred out so much of the story as to make it difficult to follow. It’s not helpful. Archived post. Most of these you can find on YouTube though. WWII in HD - 13 part series that is comprehensive. Battlefield - BBC series covers most of the largest battles but jumps around. Victory At Sea - an old but comprehensive naval documentary. The War - Ken Burns PBS documentary that focuses on the American perspective.
I'm totally hooked on The Great War and I need something to dig into while waiting for new episodes. I am fascinated by WWII and would love a documentary or series that approaches the level of detail "The Great War" provides. Netflix, YouTube, whatever let's hear 'em!
Not restricted to aircraft only, I recommend everyone should check out WW2TV on YouTube. Every episode is roughly an hour, hosted by Paul Woodadge and a presenting historian/enthusiast. Covers a wide wide range of topics during the Second World War.
