I have been modding GTA for a bit now but I am still a bit of a noob. I have been trying to figure out how to edit an entry in the gameconfig.xml. I am specifically trying to edit the line that allows NPCs to actively engage in melee with multiple targets. The line is: <Item> <PoolName>CombatMeleeManager_Groups</PoolName>
Same thing everytime. I played GTA V since it was released on PC and I'm 100% sure that's nothing about my pc specs. GPU: Nvidia GeForce 710M. CPU: i3-3110M. RAM: 4GB. It worked all day until I modded the game with gameconfig.xml. Even tho I Veryfied files with Steam and they restored it to original, the game crashes.

Tweaking that config for any changes you make to your modding requirements, is a whole new battle entirely. The gameconfig I linked to at the top, which is currently v23. Use the gameconfig from the Stock Traffic (Means Gta base) folder. I installed that and my game now loads without crashing. Edit: Just for reference, my heap adjuster and packfile adjuster settings are as follows: HEAP_SIZE = 2048 packfile_list_size = 5208
These defaults worked for R* BECAUSE of how they set the default values in the gameconfig. When I modified the gameconfig to make available space for a sh*t-ton of traffic to spawn in, It put sh*t into overdrive, LOL. Yesterday, I restored all the vehicles.meta files to original, and then went in and changed all 999 values to 100.

But between popcycle and gameconfig, ped densities remains the same as "vanilla" values. Somehow the game is absolutely ignoring any changes to the values under "config population" where it pertains to peds. To prove the point, I raised values to a 100 K in the peds multiplier values, max total peds, and even the ped memory multiplier.
When I remove the custom gameconfig, the game runs fine and I am able to load in with the few mods I have installed. (I have tried both F7Y0's and dilapidateds gameconfig, both (at least they appear to be) cause the crash) The mods I have installed are: Scripthook V, TrainerV, LSPDFR, HeapAdjuster, PackfileLimitAdjuster, SirenSettingLimitAdjuster.
