The Elec City FCEV is an urban fuel cell bus.The company began research and development of hydrogen vehicles in 1998 and launched the Elec City FCEV in 2019. It is equipped with a fuel cell system with a maximum output of 180kW, a hydrogen tank capacity of 875L, and a high-output battery of 78.4kWh.
At introduction, Hyundai offers two engine variants, a 10.1-liter (common-rail injection) diesel engine with 414 hp and a top-of-the-line 12.7-liter version with 520 hp. [6] The Xcient is available with engine powers ranging from 360 to 520 hp in Euro III and Euro IV variants, with a 12 or 16 speed dual-clutch transmission. [3]

The ix35 FCEV is priced at KRW85 million (US$77,300) with a South Korean government subsidy of KRW60 million (US$57,707), the start of mass production and the use of cheaper materials in the future should lead to lower prices. [1] Discontinued due to launching the successor, the Hyundai Nexo in 2018.

The truck weighs eight tons, with a gross vehicle weight of 18 tonnes and costs 380,000 Swiss francs. It is about twice as expensive as the diesel version. The truck is based on an Iveco Stralis chassis. The truck's operating price is 10 francs per 100 kilometres, much less than the diesel version at 50 francs per 100 kilometres.
