Aloka Pathirana FRCS (RCS England & RCSEd), MBBS, MS, is a Sri Lankan surgeon, doctor, academic and Professor of Surgery. A specialist in cancer surgery, he has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura since November 2020.
Rezvi is an External Examiner for MRCP in UK & Chennai. He is the Ceylon College of Physicians Coordinator for MRCP Examinations in Sri Lanka. He was appointed as the President of Sri Lanka Medical Association in 2009. [13] He has published academic articles on nephrology, organ transplantation, snake bites and oleander poisoning. [14]
The CCP was founded in Ceylon in 1967 after an informal meeting of eleven physicians on 25 July in the Consultants' Lounge of the General Hospital Colombo. The inaugural meeting of the College was held on 26 September of that year.
